Starting piano lessons at age 9, John later took 4 years of classical piano and music theory at Wittenberg University. In addition, he has studied guitar and voice at The Ohio State University. His knowledge of computer science comes in handy for synthesizer programming and MIDI sequencing.
But the most important training for a musician is on stage. After playing rock, jazz, blues and country in nightclubs for several years (see list of bands below), he joined the band Pleasant Street. Pleasant Street exposed him to the world of private parties and classy weddings. After spending 8 years with Pleasant Street, he worked hard for two years creating backing music (MIDI sequences) for his solo act. Now gigging regularly in his solo act, John continues to work on new cover material and plays with various bands.
